Hi, Iām Myra the Monomaker.
Mono is a Belgian jewellery studio creating colourful handmade polymer clay statement earrings that encourage women and queer people to take up space unapologetically. I make Earrings, brooches, diy-kits and workshops for rebel womxn and anyone who loves color and wants to make a statement.
Creativity, color and design is the reason I get up in the morning.
Moving from surface design to sculpting, interior design, landscaping, foodstyling, all the way to making jewelry and lighting. As a hobby, a career or a passion.
I work as a photographer in Ghent, working with women who need a confidence boost after going through hard times. Female empowerment has always been a common theme in my work. I love making women feel like they can conquer anything.
I started working with polymer clay inspired by the book 'the artists way' (Julia Cameron), in which she talks about rebooting your inner artist by thinking about the things you loved doing as a child.
I dabbled in pottery before, but the instant result and colors of polymer clay are totally up my alley! Before I knew it, I was selling earrings, and I loved the whole process. Designing, creating, photographing...
So far it's one of the most long lasting passions my ADHD brain has been able to keep up. I Hope you love my work as much as I do!
